You know, I have had a front row seat to dementia/Alzheimer’s disease because my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I have seen first hand what this brain disease does to a person. Alzheimer’s robs a person of who they used to be. Who was once an adult that took care of themselves and was a part of the world around them, is now someone who is falling into oblivion in their mind and the person does not even know it. A person with dementia literally reverts backwards and basically becomes childlike again. The person forgets where they are, no sense of time, and eventually can not even eat solid food. My mom has not made it to the advanced stages but she is well on her way. So to say I know dementia is an understatement.

I know that President Biden has not been the best person to run our country. He has a lot of skeletons in his closet and they have been out and dancing pretty much the entire year of 2024. But during the dancing sessions, it has became apparent that Biden has been declining more and more. And of course Biden’s administration has covered for him and has lied the entire time about his steady mental decline. It is very obvious to me that the President has dementia. He may not have the more severe forms of dementia but he obviously has a form of dementia. And unfortunately his decline has happened before the entire world. I have actually felt sorry for the President and wish that the Vice President would step up and take care of business. But then again, the VP has shown us that she is no where ready to run a country. That’s why Jill Biden has been taking her husband’s place at official functions and cabinet meetings. It has become more and more obvious that Biden is not running the country and papers are just being put in front of him to sign. Why do you think he has been giving out so many pardons? I think the only pardon that Biden knows he made was for his son. Other than that, Biden has been blissfully signing his autograph to anything his administration puts in front of him. This is elderly abuse in my opinion. As a matter of fact, if it was a caretaker who was getting an elderly person to sign papers not knowing what the papers actually contained, the caretaker can be charged with elderly abuse and possibly more depending on the circumstances. But apparently it is OK for a mentally incompetent President to sign anything that is put in front of him.

Now I find out that in my state, Texas, we have had a congresswoman who was admitted into an assisted living/memory care facility in July. GOP Congresswoman representing the 12th District of Texas, Kay Granger has been absent from Washington since July of this year. It is only now that we are finding out she was admitted to memory care/assisted living. As it turns out, Granger has dementia and can no longer care for herself without assistance. And yet she has continued receiving her salary as a congresswoman as though she has been working all this time. If I do not go to work, I do not get paid. As a matter of fact, I do not know of anyone who gets paid if they do not show up for work. I do not understand why it would be any different for someone in Congress. If Congresswoman Granger had become unable to care for herself, it should have been made public and officially resigned. Now, by keeping her condition secret and her continuing to be a Congresswoman, she will retire from her work as of January 3, 2025. How is this fair to the people of Texas who she is supposed to be representing? This just makes another argument for term limits and more transparency from the people who represent us.

This is the kind of stuff that we voted against last month. This is why we did not want a career politician in the White House for the next 4 years. This is why we need change in Washington and the swamp needs to be drained.
