I watched the majority of the memorial service for Charlie Kirk on Sunday. It was very honoring of Charlie’s memory and the speakers all admired and respected Charlie as a real man of God. Charlie’s widow, Erika, certainly proved that she and Charlie were equally yoked by forgiving the man who assassinated Charlie. I must admit it would take me longer than 11 days to forgive the man who assassinated my husband. I am glad that Charlie has been laid to rest. Now Erika and all of the Turning Point USA team begin the work to move forward into a new normal.
I have read a number of wonderful words in honor of Charlie on social media. God showed up and showed out on Sunday. If you were not aware of Charlie’s faith and the fact that any of us can have the same faith, you are purposely ignoring God or worse. And then there are the people on social media who just have to let their ugliness show because they just can not help themselves. For starters, there is Destiny aka Steven Bonnell ll who compared Charlie’s memorial to a Nazi rally and that Republicans should be afraid to be in public. I also seen our wonderful democratic leaders of Congress let their ugly flag fly high. Ilhan Omar(D) of Minnesota has claimed that Charlie spread hate and one of his monsters killed him. Jasmine Crockett(D) of Texas cried about how Charlie talking negatively about her and was attempting to inflict harm on minority communities. And of course, we can not forget Joy Reid saying that Charlie was racist. Then there is the result of the messaging of Legacy Media trying to convince democratic voters that Charlie was assassinated by someone other than someone in the far left camp. The is enough evidence of the assassin, his views, and lifestyle that you would have to be living under a rock to not know that the assassin is far far left in ideology.
We have seen a revival in this country and it has been awesome to watch. People who have not been to church in a minute have gone back. People who have never given God another thought are seeking God and attending church. But like Steve Deace said, I pray this is a movement and not a moment. Evil is still showing its ugly head. Of course, the left is still on the same ‘ole song and dance about how the right and MAGA is the reason for all the violence that continues to happen such as the shooting at the ICE facility in Dallas, TX. Trump and his administration are all fascists and constantly comparing President Trump to Hitler. Republicans are preying on Democrats. The trans movement and all that mental illness is still running rampant. The fatigue is real from the left.
We must go back to being a country that believes in God, reinstates the Christian values this country was founded on, dialog, learning civics and the Constitution, morals, values and just plain ‘ole polite society. Accountability and responsibility must be expected from everyone including those in at the top of the pyramid, which includes Congress and the President. Schools must go back to teaching the basics of ABCs and 123s instead of ideologies that confuse, go against all laws of nature and God and out right hurt people. The church must stop appeasing to people just to make sure money hits the offering plate. I grew up listening to sermons of fire and brimstone out of Revelation. It is time to bring these sermons back so people understand what will happen when they die and when Jesus makes His triumphant return. I am not perfect. I am a sinner too. I have certainly been a wayward child. But I do believe that I did not go down really bad paths because I did not want to be held accountable for such horrid acts in front of all heaven.
I am not the smartest person. But I do know we must get back to the basics of life and that includes faith. Charlie Kirk started an amazing movement. His legacy will live on and it is up to us to keep it going. The church must rise up and continue the revival that the assassination of Charlie Kirk started.
