Container Gardening

Today I’m pondering my container gardening. Now that I know my actual zone, I have a better idea of what to do lol. I planted seeds in 2 liter bottles back in the beginning of February and my cucumbers, yellow squash and okra have taken off. All my bottles stayed outside the entire time to help let nature harden them off while protecting them. I also have flowers, herbs, and other veggies I planted from seed that I will transplant in to buckets and pots. I will plant more seeds so that I have plants growing in waves in hopes of having plants all season long. This is my 1st time doing this in containers as I don’t have raised beds yet and probably won’t for a couple of years. So I am looking up all I can about container gardening and figuring out what works best for me.

These are my babies. I sowed 9-16 seeds in each bottle. Some have a good number of sprouts and others only have one sprout. I’m going to let them dry out as they are wet and were sitting in water from watering 2 days ago and start transplanting tomorrow starting with the cucumbers, yellow squash and okra. I have pots with soil in them from last year. I will amend the soil and transfer herbs and flowers. Veggies will go into buckets I got for free from a local bakery. Sow much to do!

Here’s to successful gardening this season! 💐🥒🫑🫜🧤🪏
